Website Refresh, Promotional Experience & SEO Growth: Affordable Fixes came to us looking to modernize their digital presence and create a stronger foundation for both user engagement and long-term search visibility. As a trusted HVAC and plumbing company serving the greater Philadelphia area for over 30 years, they needed a website experience that felt more current, more organized, and better aligned with the scale of their services and promotional offerings.
The goal of this initiative was twofold: first, to refresh the homepage with a cleaner and more conversion-focused presentation, and second, to support long-term SEO growth through structured content expansion and authority-building efforts on their WordPress-based website.
The Challenge
While Affordable Fixes already had a strong service offering and a recognizable local presence, the website needed a fresher and more strategic presentation. The homepage in particular needed to feel more modern, visually engaging, and capable of guiding visitors more effectively toward key calls to action such as estimates, promotions, and service exploration.
One of the standout functional challenges in this project was the creation of a custom promotional offers carousel. This section needed to do more than simply rotate offers. It had to serve as a high-visibility conversion area that could display a wide range of promotional content while still maintaining a clean, polished look across all screen sizes.
From a front-end perspective
From a front-end perspective, this component required careful design and development balancing. Each promotional card needed to look strong both in its active state and in its normal state, while preserving visual consistency and readability across desktop, tablet, and mobile layouts. The card content also varied in length, which added another layer of complexity when ensuring that text, pricing, disclaimers, and supporting details remained contained and visually appealing within the component.
From a back-end perspective, the challenge was equally important. The admin experience needed to be intuitive and flexible enough for future content management within WordPress. Because each promotional card could include multiple content types, pricing details, disclaimers, bonus items, and supporting text, the component required a more advanced custom field structure that would still remain easy for the client team to update and manage moving forward.
Our Approach
On the design and development side, we refreshed the homepage to create a more modern and inviting first impression. This included improving the visual hierarchy, enhancing the presentation of key service categories, and creating a more promotional, lead-generation-oriented structure that better supports how visitors actually browse HVAC and plumbing services online.
The updated homepage also brought stronger emphasis to Affordable Fixes’ service breadth, family-owned identity, financing options, and local trust signals, helping present the business as both approachable and established. We worked to ensure that the site felt more polished without losing the practical, service-driven nature of the brand.
A major centerpiece of the update was the custom promo offers carousel, which introduced a more dynamic way to showcase seasonal deals and service incentives. Rather than relying on a static list or simple promo block, this solution created a more engaging browsing experience that allows multiple offers to be presented in a cleaner and more organized way. The result was a component that supports marketing goals while remaining fully manageable from the WordPress admin side.
Beyond the homepage work, we also supported the client’s broader digital growth through a focused SEO initiative designed to improve topical depth, local visibility, and competitive positioning.
SEO Growth
Over the past six months, the SEO strategy for Affordable Fixes focused on building a stronger organic footprint across both commercial and informational search intent.
As part of this effort, we developed and launched 29 commercial pages and 9 informational pages, helping expand the site’s visibility around key service categories and educational search topics relevant to their audience.
To support authority and local trust signals, we also secured 7 paid backlinks and completed 8 directory listings. Alongside that, we carried out competitor research and analysis to help identify opportunities, shape content priorities, and strengthen the site’s positioning within its market.
This work helped create a stronger SEO foundation for long-term growth while supporting both immediate service-related visibility and broader search discoverability.
The Result
The homepage now delivers a more polished and conversion-friendly experience, with improved structure, clearer service presentation, and stronger promotional visibility. The new offers carousel adds a more engaging and strategic marketing layer to the site while giving the client a flexible way to manage ongoing promotions internally.
At the same time, the SEO work has laid the groundwork for stronger long-term growth by expanding the site’s content footprint, improving relevance across service-driven search terms, and reinforcing authority through external placements and competitive planning.
Together, these updates positioned Affordable Fixes with a website that not only looks more current, but also works harder as a tool for lead generation, visibility, and future growth.
